UPDATE: GEO has pushed this back until sometime in early 2011.
The Colorado Governor’s Energy Office says that a new grant will be announced
in late fall for the purchase of equipment and the completion of feasibility studies, permitting processes, technology reviews and economic analysis for anaerobic digestion (AD) projects. Eligible applicants include agricultural entities, local governments and businesses wishing to co-locate with an AD project and wastewater treatment districts. While CHP is not required for this grant, the two pair up well together. Anaerobic digester gas can be used in most CHP technologies, with the excess heat recycled back to the digester or used for other thermal needs.
